Our Leadership

Meet Chris Heaslip

CEO

Chris believes the church deserves the best tools that exist, not just the best a church can scrape together on its own — and that conviction is why he founded Amazing. Originally from Auckland, New Zealand, Chris moved to the U.S. in 2011 to use business to impact lives. He co-founded Pushpay, growing it from $1M to over $100M in four years, and later launched Leadr and Mission Studios before founding Bside Media in 2023 to share the gospel through new media. Today he serves as CEO of Amazing, a faith-driven nonprofit combining Gospel-centered mission with tools built to actually serve the local church. He lives near Dallas with his wife, Sarah, and their three children.

Meet Malachi Boyuls

President

Malachi didn't come to Amazing from ministry — he came from investment and law, which gave him no reason to romanticize the church, only to notice from the outside how underserved it was. He co-founded Amazing to close that gap with world-class content and tools. Before Amazing, he co-founded St. Augustine Capital Partners, managing nearly $500M in deep-value assets, and practiced at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher after two federal judicial clerkships and a J.D. from NYU. He's active at Watermark Community Church, where his day-to-day involvement in a local congregation keeps the mission grounded in what a real church actually needs.

Meet Tyler Bates

Chief Content Officer

Tyler brings something to Amazing that came from the church, not a boardroom: two decades in kids and family ministry before he ever thought about building a company. He grew a performing arts program at his Houston church from 127 kids to 1,200 in two years, spent his early twenties as Larry the Cucumber in VeggieTales Live, and served eight years as Pastor of Children's Curriculum and Content at Gateway Church, growing that ministry from 3,000 to 10,000 kids across seven campuses. In 2018 he left to plant a church in Austin, where he learned firsthand what a kids' pastor with no staff and no budget actually needs — a lesson that shapes everything Amazing builds today.

Meet Connie Bates

VP of Customer Success

Connie serves as Vice President of Customer Success at Amazing. Since the merger, she has helped lead teams across Program Management, Content, and Product, bringing clarity and stability during seasons of significant growth and change. She played a key role in the development of Amazing Kids and later helped guide its evolution for Orange Curriculum users around the world. Connie has also been instrumental in the development and launch of APlay and many of Amazing’s other major product initiatives. Today, she brings that deep knowledge of Amazing and its customers to helping churches get the most out of everything we create.
